Twitter: Friend or Foe?

A new study found that most brands are tweeting either too much or too little, and usually at all the wrong times. According to Buddy Media, the peak response time for tweets is actually over the weekend, with most engagement occurring on Saturdays. But instead of scheduling tweets at a set rate, brands are focusing on the weekdays, which will get them the least traffic/engagement on their tweets.

As for time of day, the hours between 7am and 8pm are the best times to tweet, because more people will be on twitter reading your updates – the opposite is true for Facebook, as it happens, as the best time to post there is between the hours of 8pm and 7am.

And the perfect number of posts per day? Four. Any more is too much, any less and you aren’t getting the word out to the people. Want to learn more? Check out this article by Todd Wasserman.
